2014 Holiday Matching Challenge Grant

Dear Hekab Be Biblioteca supporters and friends,

Just in time for the Holiday giving season, faithful library supporters have offered Hekab Be a matching challenge grant.  Every donation made from December 1st-15th will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $3000 USD!!

Meet Yosman, Aron, Linda, and Astrid.

These beautiful children live in Akumal pueblo with their 7 brothers and sisters. Five of the children in the family attend the library, but it is rare that all of them are here at the same time because someone needs to work after school to help their Grandma sell fruit or stay home to take care of younger siblings. Thank goodness for the Hekab Be's Saturday swim class when they can all come together!

Yosman, Aron, Linda and Astrid are just a few of the 45-50 children in the after school program at Hekab Be. In addition to providing daily educational programming for these kids, Hekab Be also provides daily transportation for nearly all of them to and from their homes in the pueblo.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO SUSTAIN THESE IMPORTANT PROGRAMS! And during this matching challenge, you can make your donation count double!

To participate in this challenge, simply click on
the DONATE button on the right side of this page.

Hekab Be is a U.S. Non-profit, so your donations are tax deductible!!

With so many children regularly attending our programs, Hekab Be's operating costs have risen: We have added additional staff so each child gets the attention they need, and our costs for maintenance and supplies have increased so we can continue to provide a safe and pleasant setting for the children to learn and play in. Please help us continue to provide these invaluable programs for Yosman, Aron, Linda, Astrid, and the rest of the Akumal community’s youngest residents, as they are the future!

Local families depend on Hekab Be, where they can learn the skills they need for a happy and productive life.

Hekab Be is a library for visitors, in addition to being a community center for families of Akumal. Many visitors enjoy the authentic connection they make with local residents at Hekab Be. We thank you in advance for your support and wish you all best this Holiday season!
