The spirit of holiday giving

One of the beautiful Christmas cakes donated by our young friends!

We had a wonderful visit the other day from two sisters, ages 5 and 6, who brought in a donation of money that their Grandmother had given them "for a good cause" -- they chose Hekab Be. When asked what they wanted the money to be used for, after much deliberating and list-making, they decided it would be good to use it for our Holiday party. Maggie went right to our local cake-maker and put in an order for two large cakes (50 servings each), one chocolate and one tres leches (a favorite in this area). So there will be plenty of cake for all the kids & visitors! Come join us for cake and other festivities Thursday Dec. 21 at 10 a.m.

~When gathering with family & friends during the holidays, please consider passing a hat (or stocking) for Hekab Be, remembering those in need during this season of giving~

We send warm wishes for all who've helped out Hekab Be over this past year. Thanks to you this year has been much less of a financial struggle than we've had in a very long time.
And to everyone we wish you a very joyous & happy holiday celebration!

Hekab Be will be closed Dec 25th and Jan. 1st-- open in the mornings all other days. We will resume our normal schedule Jan.2nd

Fall classes at Hekab Be

-->click on photos to see larger image

Kids from the secondary school come to the library for classes to help them improve their research skills. The many resource books--dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.-- that Hekab Be has to offer makes it a great place to learn about finding information in books!

Olivia Phillips teaches a regular Spanish class for local gringos looking to improve their language skills. Here we see Olivia with some of her students.

The HB Annual Xmas Party will be held Thursday, December 21st at 10 a.m. Please join us if you're in town, for pinatas, tamales and other goodies.
The library will close Dec 24-Jan 1. Happy holidays!
